Dapco and the Ultrasonic Examination of Cylinders

In 1995 Linde (formerly BOC Gases) and Dapco collaborated to introduce ultrasonic testing as a viable alternative to hydrostatic testing for requalifying compressed gas cylinders. BOC Gasses was issued the first DOT exemption for the use of Ultrasonic Examination in lieu of hydrostatic testing for requalifying compressed gas cylinders.

Since then, ultrasonic examination has become a reliably demonstrated, proven inspection technique that is accepted worldwide. Dapco’s UE equipment is technically proven, fast, reliable, and easily operated. Dapco’s inspection technique is widely accepted by regulatory authorities throughout the globe. Dapco offers a wide range of ultrasonic test systems that meet your needs.

We can provide a proven economic solution for re-qualifying compressed gas cylinders. We provide the necessary equipment and foundational support such as technical training, approved special permits, and technical oversight to comply with United States Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
